The Brooklyn Nets have signed Mirza Teletovic, a stretch forward from Bosnia. Teletovic is an elite scorer and has been long rumored to want to play in Brooklyn. Last season, he played for Caja Loboraj of the Spanish league. According to the NY Post’s Tim Bontemps, this signing is a good sign for Nets fans: “The signing of Teletovic is a good sign that Deron Williams is coming to Brooklyn.” This signing will make it more difficult for the Nets to sign Jason Kidd this summer.
Teletovic is 6’9”, 26 years old, and averaged 15.8 points and 6.8 rebounds last season. Billy King used his mid-level exception to sign Teletovic, which will pay him $5 million next season. Teletovic’s contract is reportedly for three years.
This is a very intriguing signing. I bet Teletovic is ecstatic to be a Net open the Barclays Center in a few months.
