Nets Begin Informal Practices, Already

Some Nets rotation players have already started practicing together, preparing for Brooklyn’s inaugural season, and it’s still early in September! Deron Williams Tweeted the above picture of him, Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks, and others at the Nets practice facility, the PNY Center. Gary Sussman Tweeted, “[This is the] most [Nets] rotation players I can recall [practicing] this early in September.”

The Nets have added incentive to be prepared for the beginning of the season, because their home opener is a marquee game against the Knicks. Deron Williams is demonstrating great leadership skills getting his teammates to start practicing with so much time left before the preseason. Especially since he has signed a maximum contract with Brooklyn, D Will holds a lot of responsibility for how the Nets perform this upcoming season.

I bet some players participating in these practices will have some good quotes in the coming days.

This is a very good sign and was very smart by Deron Williams. This team has never played together which means they are already behind teams like the Celtics and Heat in terms of team chemistry. The only way to improve team chemistry is to practice together as much as possible, and it appears that the Nets are doing this. I’m especially happy to see Deron and Brook Lopez practicing together because they have rarely played together in the year+ that Deron has been with the Nets.
