It has been announced that the 4th season of NBA TV’s “The Association” will feature the Brooklyn Nets. The first three years of the show featured the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Denver Nuggets, and all three teams played well with the cameras following them. The show is similar to the NFL’s “Hard Knocks”, which follows one NFL team throughout training camp and the preseason. The difference between the NFL version and the NBA version is that “The Association” will follow the Nets throughout the season and into the playoffs (if they should get there). There will also be clips from the show on NBA.com.
The cameras have already began following the Nets, beginning with their announcement of “Brooklyn’s Backcourt” and the summer league in July. There have also been cameras at the PNY Center where the Nets have been having informal workouts. The first episode of the new season will air on NBA TV on October 16th at 10 PM, following a preseason game between the Nets and Boston Celtics.
The fact that the NBA wanted this show to cover the Nets shows that people are very interested as to how the Nets will do in their first year in Brooklyn. They have one of the more intriguing teams and a completely re-made roster, and they have a chance to do some real damage in the eastern conference this year.
This show will give us an inside look at the players and coaches, and we will probably get a chance to see some funny moments in the locker room. I am most excited to see coach Avery Johnson’s pump-up speeches and Deron Williams’s leadership abilities. I also want to see some of the more comical aspects of the show. Brook Lopez is a prankster and we may see some of his jokes. He seems perfect for this show. Kris Humphries is a famous person in the media because of his relationship with Kim Kardashian, and this will be his chance to prove to everyone that he is not just some reality star. Marshon Brooks and Tyshawn Taylor are young guys who probably have never even dreamed of being on a show like this. I will be interested to see how they act around the cameras.
I am excited for the debut of this show and will definitely tune in on October 16th.
