Nets training camp has started this week, and there have already been a few injuries, which is common in the NBA. On Wednesday, Andray Blatche was suffering from back spasms, but they were not serious at all and he returned to practice on Thursday.
Josh Childress has been dealing with a sore Achilles and did not practice today. Avery Johnson expects Childress to be back on the court tomorrow when the Nets will have a practice in the morning and a simulated game at night.
Tyshawn Taylor may have the worst injury on the team right now. Taylor strained his right quad muscle a few days ago and will not be back until Sunday at the earliest. However, the injury is not too serious and I don’t expect Tyshawn to miss any preseason games.
Whenever there is practice or games, there will be a few injuries. However, these injuries may be due in part to the fact that Avery Johnson wants the Nets pushing the ball this year and running a high-paced offense. When the season begins, expect all players to be in shape and ready to play.
