In the Nets’ final preseason game against the Knicks on Wednesday, Andray Blatche was heckled by the Knicks bench at times. Injured SF Iman Shumpert was apparently a ring leader for the heckling. Blatche addressed the heckling in comments to the media:

If I was on that bench, I would do the same thing.

[Iman Shmupert] wasn’t playing, so he had to do something. He’s sitting on the bench with a suit on … he’s got to do something. I guess that’s his job.

Hopefully, the Knicks’ heckling will give Blatche more motivation to perform well in the Nets’ season opener against New York on Thursday. Playing for the Wizards for seven years, I bet Blatche is very used to getting heckled. Blatche can be a very important player for the Nets this season and motivation/focus has been a big issue for him in his career.
