Despite reports earlier in the day that the Nets home opener on Thursday night against the New York Knicks may be postponed, the NBA has officially announced that the game will take place at its originally scheduled time on Thursday at 7.
The game was in question due to the massive hurricane which swept through New York as well as much of the east coast last night. Because of the hurricane, subways, buses, and the Long Island Rail Road have all been closed, but the fact that the NBA is deciding to play this game tells us that these methods of public transportation will likely be running again by Thursday.
Of course, it will still be more inconvenient for many people to get to this game because of the hurricane. On the bright side, hopefully less Knicks fans from Manhattan will make the journey to Brooklyn and it will still be a Nets-dominated crowd.
Expect a sold out and loud crowd on Thursday night as the Nets open up Brooklyn.
