It has been a recurring issue for the Brooklyn Nets over the last few seasons; Deron Williams and his troublesome ankles. Well, that issue may have finally been resolved. Williams underwent successful surgery on both his ankles yesterday.

Williams has had issues with his ankles for years. Through the last two years he has received several injections to ease the pain. At times he has played significantly better. At other times, his performance has remained relatively unchanged.
The star point guard has admittedly lost confidence over the last few seasons. His performance has noticeably regressed during that span. He just had his worst statistical season since his rookie campaign.
The Nets would be best served if Williams is somehow able to regain his form from when he was a member of the Utah Jazz. The team still owes him three years, $63 million. They paid him like a superstar just two summer’s ago. He has rarely played like one since then.
Brooklyn has high aspirations for next season no matter who will be on the roster come opening day. If Williams is on the roster, he certainly makes the team better. If he plays like he once did with the Jazz, he will make the Nets significantly better. Hopefully with his recent surgery he can start to regain that form.
