According to a tweet by Stefan Bondy, it appears that the Brooklyn Nets’ $12 million man, Kris Humphries, will be moved out of the rotation moving forward. P.J. Carlesimo was expected to make this move after he decided that Reggie Evans will continue starting for the team.

P.J. is planning on trimming the rotation to just 10 players for the foreseeable future. The starting lineup of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Reggie Evans, and Brook Lopez will remain unchanged. After that, the backups will be C.J. Watson, who has been a solid backup point guard all season, Marshon Brooks, who has been in and out of the rotation but is playing better lately, Keith Bogans, a role player who hits 3′s and plays defense, Mirza Teletovic, who the Nets’ front office wants to see more of, and Andray Blatche, who has been a major scoring option off the bench for Brooklyn all season.

The players out of the rotation will be Tyshawn Taylor, who has mainly seen action in garbage time this season, Toko Shengelia, who has been going back-and-forth between the Nets and their D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor, Jerry Stackhouse, who has barely played since P.J. Carlesimo became head coach, and Kris Humphries.

Heading into the season, The Hump was expected to be the starting power forward for this team. The Nets showed their faith in him by paying him $24 million over 2 years before the season. However, Kris has fallen steadily downward in the rotation all season and now has appeared to hit rock bottom.

He has been very inconsistent with his jump shots all season long, he is not the rebounder he was last season, and he is even having problems finishing near the rim.

There is no question that the Nets will be looking to trade Humphries in the offseason, but if teams can’t get a good look at him towards the end of the season, will anybody want his expiring contract next season? There will still be some takers, although I can’t imagine the Nets getting much more than a second round pick for Humphries.

Ironically, the Nets are in Charlotte tonight playing against the worst team in the NBA. If the game is a blowout, Kris will likely get some playing time on the same day he is announced to be out of the rotation.
